DIKKE

DIKKE brings the raw essence of 90s hip-hop into today’s scene with a sound that’s both pure and powerful. His honest storytelling and old-school flow have earned him a No. 1 album and a rapidly growing fanbase. With new music and explosive live shows, he’s cementing himself as one of Belgium’s most compelling rap voices.

The Flemish artist Mohammed Agounad (27) has gained widespread fame under the stage name DIKKE. In 2021, he released his debut album 130 Kilo, but true fans had known him long before thanks to his presence on social media. DIKKE’s rap career actually began in his teenage years, when he started sharing videos showcasing his talent. The overwhelmingly positive reactions to his authentic style laid the foundation for the professionalization of his craft. In the years that followed, his musical network continued to grow, leading to a remarkable collaboration with Mathieu Terryn (Bazart), who strongly connected with the track “Beef met Mezelf”, sparking a unique artistic bond between the two.

It is no coincidence that DIKKE reached the No. 1 spot in Belgium with his album 130 Kilo, and also gained major popularity in the Netherlands. Audiences are simply drawn to the pure, raw old-school hip-hop sound he consistently delivers, transporting listeners back in time to the golden era of the genre. Dikke manages to capture the essence of hip-hop through his honest lyrics and distinctive approach to rapping. His most recent album SUMO further confirmed his artistic maturity, receiving highly positive responses from both press and fans.

DIKKE now counts three MIA nominations, after already delivering a phenomenal performance at the awards in 2023. During the festival season, he made a major impact and proved he is far more than just a punchline rapper. He delivered unforgettable performances at festivals such as Brussels’ Couleur Café and set the Pukkelpop field in his home province of Limburg ablaze. He also impressed at Rock Werchter, where, according to HUMO, he delivered the best concert of his career, earning exceptionally glowing reviews.

One thing is clear: DIKKE is putting in the work. New bars, new music, fresh energy in the studio - on and off the stage. He already proved it with his sold-out show at the Ancienne Belgique, a major milestone in his live trajectory. He is also appearing for the second year in a row at De Warmste Week, this year in Genk, where a Limburg headliner like him is indispensable.

Beyond music, he broadened his public profile through his participation in De Slimste Mens. Growing up, he experienced a lack of relatable role models in the media, and that is exactly why he wants to use his platform to become one for others.
