LŨPḀGANGGANG
LũpḁGangGang is a band that opts for a balance between instrumental and vocal, between improvisation and written music. Music blog ‘Dansende Beren’ wrote: ”Everything just seems off, like it's a soundtrack of stumbling, falling, and getting up again. And they can do that while still maintaining complete control over the sultry energy that permeates their music.”LũpḁGangGang fluctuates between seeking and finding. It is best to experience that search live, because the constant enthusiasm and the indomitable energy they get from this, perhaps makes the search even more interesting than the finding! Fresh, innovative, naughty and tons of attitude: that's LũpḁGangGang. LũpḁGangGang released their third EP 'Urban Detox' in 2022. In March 2023 they will release their debut album 'Dopamine Overdose'. For both the album and the EP, the band collaborated with Nicolas Rombouts (Dez Mona). The band wants to bring together their wide range of influences in their debut album, while at the same time continuing to build their own LũpḁGangGang sound. Influences include Kamaal Williams, The Breathing Effect, STUFF, Black Midi, ... Both the EP and the album are released by Sdban Ultra (N.E.W.S Records) (STUFF.,ECHT!, TaxiWars, ...).
The group members met each other in 2017 during a jam session, while all four were still at school. After a while the band started writing their own songs. After a few singles, the debut EP 'Stalingrad' was released in 2020. This EP became a musical search for a 'middle ground' for these four diverse young wolves. Thanks to their rich range of musical influences, the band has managed to play several Belgian stages over the past 3 years. From the Ancienne Belgique to Flagey, Gent Jazz and Handelsbeurs.
