Belgium Booms x JazzLab @ Brussels Jazz Festival

Belgium Booms and JazzLab are once again joining forces for an international visitors programme at the Brussels Jazz Festival, taking place at Flagey from 21–23 January 2027.

Each year, Belgium Booms partners with a leading jazz event to connect the Belgian scene with international professionals. After a great edition at BRAND! Festival (2025) and Motives For Jazz this year, the 2027 focus shifts to Brussels.

Four Belgian acts will be selected for a full showcase slot at the festival. Together with the organisers, they will invite a curated group of international jazz professionals to attend their show and engage in focused networking. Selected artists receive strategic and promotional support, along with tailored networking opportunities.

Ready to expand your international horizon?

A limited number of showcase slots are reserved for this programme. Apply via the open call and stand a chance to be selected by an international jury of experts. You’ll perform not only for an enthusiastic audience, but also for key international jazz professionals (whom you may also suggest). A prime opportunity to position your project internationally.

Who can apply?

Professional Belgian jazz musicians or bands with a current project ready for international stages.

Conditions

Applicants must:

- Be available on 21, 22 and 23 January 2027.
- Perform a ±60-minute set for a fee of €350 per musician (guaranteed up to quintet line-ups; larger ensembles by mutual agreement).
- Demonstrate a long-term commitment to the submitted project and clear international ambitions.
- Show professional readiness to tour internationally (management, team or proven experience) and a defined target region or market.
- Have released at least one EP or album (or provide proof of an upcoming release).

Artists who officially showcased at the European Jazz Conference (Ha Concerts or De Bijloke) in 2024 or were part of the BRAND! 2025 line-up are not eligible.

Deadline

Sunday March 22nd (midnight). You can find the application here. Good luck!

All applications will be reviewed by Belgium Booms and JazzLab. An international committee of jazz professionals will select the four acts, under supervision of the festival and visitors programme organisers. Inclusion and diversity (gender, ethnicity, age, etc.) are key parameters in the selection process.
