The Parisian neighborhoods of Pigalle and Montmartre are the setting for the eleventh edition of the MaMA Festival. The showcase festival presents itself as the meeting place for international and French music professionals. It’s one of the most relevant club & showcase festivals in France.
You can find VI.BE and Wallonie-Bruxelles Musiques in Paris with a Belgium Booms campaign to support some of our finest upcoming Belgian artists, with the support of Sabam For Culture and Playright+.
Here are the Belgians acts scheduled to play this year :
COLT
is the new Belgian musical phenomenon. The Brussels-based duo have made
a name for themselves with their creativity and energy, becoming one of
the most promising bands on the French pop scene. Formerly known as
Coline & Toitoine, their story is rooted in friendship. A harmonious
fusion in which Coline’s voice and raw emotion blend with Toitoine’s
singular, bewitching, almost lunar universe. At just 23 years of age,
COLT have been playing a series of concerts and festivals, from Brussels
to Paris and as far afield as New York. Following the success of their
single “Insomnies”, which has already racked up millions of listens, and
a first Parisian date sold out in just a few days, COLT are set to
unveil “Mille Vies”, a second EP in September 2023.
Loverman
is the solo project of Belgian artist James de Graef, a former member
of the wacky rock band Shht. For this new venture, the deep-voiced
songwriter from Brussels reveals himself in a minimalist formula, where
the guitar accompanies his dusky poetry. Following in the footsteps of
Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave, Loverman evolves in a world of chiaroscuro,
delivering songs that are inhabited by an ideal of timelessness.
marcel make a scene with their mishmash of indie/post-punk songs, inviting the audience to meditate on the ways in which we can sabotage the civilized world as well as on the profound mystery of the human spirit, all set to a soundtrack of Brazilian whistles, darbuka, kazoo, and other bizarre antics. Come and see marcel, it’s like your yearly local village fair: both thrilling and frightening at the same time.
